Realistic people or "Doers" like to work with "things". They tend to be "assertive and competitive, and are interested in activities requiring motor coordination, skill and strength." They approach problem solving "by doing something, rather than talking about it, or sitting and thinking about it." They also prefer "concrete approaches to problem solving, rather than abstract theory." Finally, their interests tend to focus on "scientific or mechanical rather than cultural and aesthetic areas.

People with Realistic types of jobs are our modern day "heroes" like fire fighters, soldiers and pilots. They are on the field to assist and protect our society.

In this category, we can also include athletes. So your favorite football player or tennis player would also be in this category being outside, using their athletic energy and manual skills.

If you score strong in both Realistic and Investigative jobs, you might be able to do jobs in the medical field like dentists or surgeon. If you are a realistic type of person in the sense that you like going out, you may enjoy being a photographer or a cameraman shooting films.

Another possible combination between Realistic and Artistic could make the job of "chef" suitable for you.
