No, communism is not dead, but it might have to
change colors
12,000 years ago during the Neolithic revolution, humans switched from a nomadic hunter-gatherer lifestyle to settle down thanks to agriculture. In the process, human beings had to learn how to share and to save produce for future needs.
Society had to be organized. Generosity and the sense of community had to be developed.

Of course, 10 thousand years later, another revolution came, the industrial one, creating a huge gap between poor workers and rich industrialists. Once again, humanity had to learn how to share and organize themselves. Unfortunately, it's the rich factory owners who decided how to organize society. Facing that situation, a German philosopher, Karl Marx, thought of a solution: an anti-capitalistic equal society.

Fast-forward to the XXth century when Iron Man, Staline, an egomaniac - so egomaniac he called himself Iron Man - and by the way, nowadays, it would appear somehow grotesque that a Super Hero is leading a country.

But at the end of World War 2, the triumphant Red Army and its leader were highly celebrated, opening a highway to what we now call a Cult of Personality.

Anyway, when I realized McDonald's was using the same colors as communist countries, I wondered if there was a reason behind it.

The Soviet Union flag famous for its yellow hammer and sickle on a red background was used between 1923 and 1991. We can still see the same colors on the Chinese and Vietnamese flags. As for McDonald's famous logo, it was created in 1975. So if anyone copied somebody else, then it'd be McDonald's who did.
But still, it'd be difficult to imagine it not to be only a coincidence.

But what a coincidence! McDonald's which is now a symbol of capitalism has been using the same colors as communist countries without anyone saying anything about it? I guess they are just colors and colors aren't owned by any ideology.

Anyway, unlike McDonalds, communism wasn't successful in the 20th century. But why?

One big mistake of 2oth century communism was its aspirituality. By "aspirituality", I mean its lack of spirituality. But in fact, it's way too sweet of a word to describe their behavior towards religion as communist leaders hated the religion and many churches all over the Soviet Union were destroyed.
We have to understand that Marxism was in the same breed as Darwinism. Communism ideologies came out at the same time as Darwin's theory of evolution which strongly discredited what the Church was saying.

The new society that was imagined in the 19th century had to be implemented without religion.

However, it was a BIG MISTAKE for communism. But why?

Well, from Monday to Saturday, our daily life is led by competition.
Everyday, we fight against each other.

On Sunday however, when we go to mass, we're all equal to God - or in other words - to our human condition. And rare are the opportunities to be equal together.

Sometimes, things have to adapt and evolve. For example, in 2007, McDonald's realized they had to give a more ecological aspect to their brand. The background of their European logo became green.
